The Highlands

The Highlands is a region covering the Pays d'Enhaut as well as the Bernese Oberland in the Swiss Alps. The territory is beautifully unspoiled, covered by small villages featuring centuries-old chalets, ancestral traditions, charming small churches, intertwined families with historic ties. As a child, I spent most of my holidays in Rougemont, known for its beautiful castle, warm church and for the reserve of its inhabitants.

This is a place where children learn to ski at the same time as they learn to walk, where farmers produce the best crazy double cream and rare exceptional cheese. In winter, the region transforms into a romantic and pristine landscape, where the tracks of hares and foxes cast shadows in the fresh snow. In summer, the landscape is an assemblage of pastures filled with wildflowers, where big fat happy cows graze and forests are plenty of winding trails abundant with wild strawberries and blueberries.
